Christoph Poppen, an internationally renowned German conductor, dreamed of holding a Classical Music Festival in Marvão. This dream came true in July 2014, becoming a magical and unforgettable moment where the unique atmosphere exalted the quality of the classical artists, an atmosphere so inspiring that it enthralled and captivated the audience, a phenomenon that resonated internationally.

Maria Leal da Costa is a Portuguese sculptor born in Évora in 1964. She attended the Sculpture course at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts. She is a member of the National Society of Fine Arts. She has exhibited her work since 1994. She has a studio in Quinta do Barrieiro, Marvão, Portugal, where she has worked since 1999 and is developing her Alentejo Sculpture Park project.

Misaki, a Japanese artisan lives in Portalegre. Her work is inspiring by not only preserving a worldwide cultural heritage craftmanship - but also by reflecting a deep sustainable connection to the craft. The willow is traditionally grown, harvested and prepared by hand. A century-old method. She offers her grace to this art with a refreshing interpretation of function and beauty, marrying tradition with sculptural organic forms.

Nisa pottery is know for its “stone-inlaid pottery” where tiny quartz stones are embedded into clay vessels, creating embroidery-like designs, as a need to preserve the fresh and cool qualities of water.
